The CNY Gay 5K is now the PRIDE 5K. It’s still a community-run, family-friendly event designed to celebrate our Central New York community and raise funds for our local LGBTIA+ non-profit, SAGE Upstate. But now, there’s a new link:

sageupstate.org/pride-5k

Registration will be open soon! Watch the new site for information.

Where is the race?

We are back at Long Branch Park this year!

Where do I park?

Park in the Long Branch Park parking lot. Please make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before start time as the road will be closed for the start of the race.

When can I register?

Registration is open through 6/12 at noon. You can also register on race day from 7:30 to 8:30 am.

When can I get my shirt and race bib?

There will be packet pickups scheduled before race day or the morning of the race at check in. See details tab for specifics.

What is the course like?

A 5k is 3.1 miles. This typically takes 20-40 minutes to run, or an hour to walk. The course is a flat out-and-back with a water stop. The race begins at the Long Branch Park parking lot and proceeds over the bridge. The course then turns right and proceeds along the lake with a turnaround at the half way point. There are restrooms at the race start and near the turnaround point. See map on the details page.

Will there be refreshments?

Yes, there will be a water stop near the halfway point. At the finish there will be water, juice, yogurt and granola bars.

Are dogs allowed at the CNY Gay 5K?

We love our four-legged, furry friends here at the Gay 5K. They are welcome on a leash. We ask that you make sure they are people and pup friendly and stay out of the way of those seriously running the race.
